Etiquette for a Valentine’s Date
Today is Valentine’s Day and chances are that you will take your loved one out on a date. Below are some tips that will ensure the night will end the way you had hoped for.
Dress Up!
Yes, she might love you (almost) unconditionally – but this is no excuse not to put effort into your date. Especially if you are a shorts and T-shirt kind of guy dressing up will score you big brownie points. The minimum you should be wearing is a collared dress shirt, well fitting jeans, belt, and dress shoes or loafers. If you want to step it up, then add a sports coat, blazer jacket, and even a necktie to the outfit. Women have a much better fashion sense, and even if you don’t look like a GQ model, she will notice the effort you put into your attire. She will feel special knowing that you did this for her!
Be a Gentleman
Pick her up, greet her with flowers, and open the doors for her. Spoil her and make her feel like a lady! Obviously, picking up the bill should not need to be explained, and having a Valentine’s card that is sincerly written and comes from the heart goes without question.
Be a Planner
No matter how spontaneous you are as a person, put effort into planning your Valentine’s date. If you haven’t done so already, then now is the time to start! Make reservations, give her an idea of what to wear, and plan the night. She will love it!
